I have wavy/curly hair. It's long - over 8". Full head of it. It's also very thick (volume), and brown.
I sort have that Jesus look going, and everyone is telling me I need a haircut. I want to keep my hair relatively long, though.
Anyone have any suggestions, preferably with pictures (like a site that shows styles for people with very wavy hair?)?

I am a licensed cosmetologist. Wavy/curly hair is a kind of texture that requires a little more attention. It is best that you keep up with your trims then you may find that the hair will be more less frizzy and alot more manageable. You mentioned that you would like to keep the length. What i recommend, first a trim. Go to a professional stylist that you can trust. Be sure that before the stylist begins to trim your hair that they are sure they know the look you are trying to achieve. Also, be sure that you keep treating your hair with a good treatment such as a deep conditioner. If you keep treating it with a deep conditioner weekly you will find that your hair is more manageable. It will keep your hair looking healthy. If you keep up with your trims and deep conditioning you can wear it in any style and it will look amazing! Also try to use professional products. They are more expensive but i guarrantee that you will notice the difference. Trust me, it's worth it!

Ok so I have naturally long, brown (on the darker side of brown but not too dark) hair and I have been dying it an auburn color for about 2 years..It is a pretty bright reddish-brown...So I got tired of the red and wanted to go dark brown...I purchased Loral Superior Professional dark ash brown, and I chose the ash because a friend of mine who does hair said that ash is supposed to eliminate any red tones..
So I died it and it came out pretty nice, dark brown almost black but each day I washed it, it seemed to show more and more red and lighten up..So now (2 weeks later) it is kind of like what I had before but with more brown in it, but you can see a lot of the red high lights..
I know that red is so hard to get out of hair so I don't know what to do..If I dye it the same color that I just did, do you think it will eliminate more of the red?
Should I just go darker or even a natural black? My skin tone gives me a lot of flexibilty so I'm sure it wouldn't look bad

Go to a professional and have the dye "lifted" from your hair. Then you can start fresh. It's quite an extensive process and probably somewhat expensive but I think you will be happy to start fresh again. If your friend does hair, she should have been able to explain this to you in the first place.
Of course, another alternative is to let it grow out and slowly cut off the old dyed hair little by little...

you should get a color treated shampoo and condidtioner or color lock in hair stuff. When I was little my mom dyed my hair BIRHGT orange by accident so it came out bad and It started to come out so, use a lock in or clolor treated.

Okay, I need desperate help! I want to know how to cut my own hair and make it like emo. I don't want it like scene where it's short %26amp; choppy in the back. I have long, straight, blonde hair that's thick. If you have any tips that would be GREAT. Step by step instructions would be lovely too. Well that choppy bob is the standard at emo shows here in Newfoundland.Theres also a more assymetrical style that shorter in the back and angled longer in the front. It can easily be acheived on any length by yourself or with the help of a friend.Alot of emo chicks up here do funky updos too.Anyway that's about all I know about emo hair!

I cut my own hair, not in an emo style, but it is possible to cut your own hair if you want to. Choppy styles are easier because you don't have to try to get anything straight!
Don't cut too much in one go or you might regret it, just take it slow. Hold your fingers upwards and take sections of your hair that way (vertical not horizontal) so you don't end up with any horrific "steps". Cut at angles and move the scissors round while you cut so it's not too blunt. Hold the scissors so they're pointing in the same direction as the end of the hair, (so you're cutting into the ends), to finish off. That will stop it being so blunt too.

Use a mirror to check the back and be confident. Also remember it won't look any good when it's first cut, you'll need to wash, dry and style it to see what it looks like.
